Nutritional Balancing

All information in this article is for educational purposes only. It is not for the diagnosis, treatment, prescription or cure of any disease or health condition.

Very simply, if you have been experiencing symptoms that no one can explain or a recurring illness that you’ve had to treat your entire life, such as weight issues, blood sugar problems, fatigue, depression, stress, personal traumas, thyroid issues, gut issues, any kind of addiction, symptoms of pyroluria , emotional or physical problems, hormonal imbalances, or you are exercising simply to keep your weight down and spent thousands of dollars on different remedies to stay fit and healthy, then you should consider a hair mineral analysis or also referred to a hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA).

Nutritional balancing operates on a simple basic principle: your body was designed to thrive in this world. Every part of it was made to work in harmony with every other part, and the whole was meant to help you, as an individual, thrive and live in health. If your body is not performing optimally and you are experiencing poor health, it is because something is interfering with its ability to do its job. Nutritional balancing is about determining what is preventing your body from performing as it wishes to, and removing those obstacles one by one.

.What Can Hair Analysis Reveal?

What Does An Analysis Provide?: You will receive from the LAB the only complete individualized test interpretation by the method developed by the late Dr. Paul C. Eck, the founder. I will meet with you to interpret this 15-20-page report. The story is unique as it includes information related to one’s metabolic rate, energy levels, sugar and carbohydrate tolerance, immune system, autonomic balance, glandular activity and metabolic trends, a personal dietary supplement program, basic diet recommendations and other information that can be inferred from the test results.

However, a hair tissue mineral analysis is much more than a test for minerals. It Provides a blueprint of one's biochemistry, and a hair tissue mineral analysis can provide pertinent information about your metabolic rate, energy levels, carbohydrate tolerance, stage of stress, immune system and glandular activity. This screening test can also be used to reduce the guesswork involved when recommending nutritional supplements and dietary modifications.

A new method of therapy for mental and emotional illness. Correcting sometimes relatively simple nutritional imbalances indicated on a hair mineral analysis often lessens or even eliminate emotional and behavioral symptoms and conditions. A hair analysis is a cost-effective, non-toxic and much-needed newer approach to the care of mental and emotional illness.

A new way to improve humans in the future. Hair analysis reveals that many health problems are due to deficiencies and toxic metals in the mothers-to-be. These imbalances are passed directly to their children through the placenta during gestation. These are called congenital irregularities to differentiate them from genetic problems.

Nutritional balancing science can often quickly identify these imbalances in the mothers-to-be, either before they become pregnant or when they become pregnant. It can also guide the restoration of improved health so that imbalances are not passed on and the children are born healthier and happier.

What is a Tissue Mineral Analysis? A trace mineral analysis is a test which measures the mineral content of your hair. Mineral content of the hair reflects the mineral content of the body tissues. In other words, a hair mineral analysis is a biopsy of your organs, including the brain tissue. If a mineral deficiency or excess exists in the hair, it usually indicates a mineral deficiency or excess within the body or bio-unavailability. Example: If your hair reveals an elevated calcium level two or three times normal, then your calcium level within the body may also be elevated. If this is the case, a strong tendency exists for arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries due to calcium plaques). Various mineral imbalances, as revealed by hair analysis frequently lead to metabolic dysfunction before any symptoms become manifest.

Other conditions which may result or be aggravated by a mineral imbalance are:

Is Hair Analysis A Valid Basis For Evaluation Of A Person's Chemistry? Blood tests and urine tests obviously provide important information about a person's biochemical status, but they only evaluate the fluids in the body. However, the vast majority of biochemical functions take place inside the cells themselves. Of course, we can't conveniently take snips out of the various organs of a person's body to evaluate what is going on in the cells, but there are cells conveniently available to us, the cells of the hair. Through extensive research and correlation of data, it has been established that there are strong relationships between the levels of minerals in the hair and other tissues of the body. Thus, analysis of the mineral content of an individual's hair can provide us with a general 'blueprint' of the mineral content in the rest of the body's tissues. Since these minerals are crucial to the functioning of enzymes, hormones and other biochemical systems which sustain life, it is possible to read this 'blueprint' and see where metabolic patterns are deviating from normal.

Another benefit of hair analysis is that it may be used to assist the healthcare professional to pinpoint the development of metabolic dysfunction often before symptoms manifest. While mineral imbalances in the body do eventually show up in the blood serum, they will not do so until the condition is so advanced that the individual is often experiencing overt symptoms. Tissue mineral analysis allows us to determine that an imbalance exists before the imbalance begins to manifest disturbances on a symptomatic level. Therefore, the imbalance can often be corrected through nutritional therapy even before a person begins to suffer from metabolic symptoms.

Hair Collecting

The accuracy and reliability of the test results and interpretation are based upon receipt of a properly collected hair sample that is clean and free from external contaminants.

I Have Bleached/Dyed/permed hair. Will this affect the results?
Some labs recommend that the hair will not be accepted if it has been treated, but we have found that it does not influence the test so much that you need to wait for weeks for months before getting your hair tested. You should wash it at least four times after your hair treatment. The hair sampling instructions you will receive will also contain other factors that may influence the results, and what to do about them, including the use of certain shampoos and water softeners. Additionally, the hair should be washed within 48 hours. This means your hair can be washed on the same day or a day or two before sampling your hair. Wash the hair with a plain shampoo, and then let it dry for at least 4 hours. Use a plain, simple shampoo, if possible. If possible, do not add conditioners and other products to the hair after washing it on the day you will take the sample. There are several cautions and concerns regarding hair products. Most shampoos and conditioners do not contain metals and will not affect the accuracy of the analysis. However medicated shampoos of concern are:

  • Selsun Blue (selenium)
  • Head and Shoulders (zinc)
  • Grecian Formula (lead and iron)
